Ghana celebrates its National Independence Day. Current COVID situation, vaccination and reactivation of tourism. Every March 6th, since 1957, the Republic of Ghana celebrates the anniversary of its independence from the United Kingdom. As the first country in the region to do so, Ghana's pioneering status has meant that, throughout history, it has had to face countless challenges to become one of the most prosperous and stable countries in the continent.Such is the importance of this milestone for Ghanaians that, since then, every March 6th, celebrations are also held at its diplomatic missions scattered throughout the world, including the Embassy in Madrid (Spain).However, the current crossroads the world is going through, due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, has prevented this year's traditional cocktail party from being held at the Embassy and attended by personalities from all over the world.
