Once again, the realm of tourism and travel unveils a highly promising landscape on all fronts. Not only have pre-pandemic figures been achieved across every sector, but in most cases, they have been exceeded. The reopening of China for governmental, institutional, business, and domestic tourism has effectively signaled the global accessibility of all destinations.

And yet again, echoing its motto 'Travel Revolution Takes Off,' the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) is set to take flight in Seville from October 18th to 20th, with an extended experience beginning on October 17th, thanks to the simultaneous inclusion of A World for Travel 2023. These unmissable events converge in the historic city of Seville.

As we underscore, backed by real-world data, not only have travel restrictions been left behind, but the desire and need of the average traveler have surged exponentially over the years, even sidestepping variables such as geopolitical circumstances or inflationary pressures.

However, as we witness an unprecedented industry takeoff, we are also witnessing a gradual transformation within it, a matter to be comprehensively addressed during the celebratory gatherings of the Tourism Innovation Summit and A World for Travel. This transformation, in a sense, is propelled by an increased digitization that lays the foundation for an ever more sustainable travel sector. New trends and types of tourism are shaping the landscape.

Both TIS and A World for Travel have solidified their status as international pioneers in the realm of tourism innovation. These two events, jointly held for the first time, will attract experts and stakeholders from the global public and private sectors. From October 17th to 20th, Seville will play host to governments, institutions, investors, and leading industry entities, converging to deliberate, inspire, collaborate, and connect.

In the context of TIS, this year's focus rests upon five pivotal themes crucial for the future of travel: social, environmental, climatic, economic, and technological shifts. Through these lenses, and without neglecting others, topics such as maritime and nature tourism will be addressed, alongside fundamental issues related to human capital and the technological challenges they entail.

Following Évora (Portugal) and Nîmes (France), A World for Travel descends upon Seville during the same space-time interval as TIS. The choice of location is far from arbitrary, as stated by the organizing body; Seville has historically hosted a multitude of civilizations, rendering it a unique epitome of universal history.

As in previous editions, AWFT will feature significant figures from the spheres of travel, tourism, business, governments, and global institutions, aiming to provide unparalleled intellectual leadership. In their own words, AWFT emulates and draws inspiration from the Davos Forum, converging tourism, business, innovation, and the participation of high-level ministers and institutional figures. This, in effect, transforms this joint edition of A World for Travel and the Tourism Innovation Summit into a comprehensive GITT summit.

For 2023, the chosen motto and theme, 'Shifting Towards the Future,' aims to foster discussion and sharing among all stakeholders, unveiling projects and developments in progress, as well as those on the horizon. An unmissable rendezvous beckons.
